Man Utd news: Sky Sports Ryan Giggs has pop at Man City ahead of Manchester derby

RYAN GIGGS has taken a swipe at Manchester City, claiming they are not in the same league as the Arsenal ‘Invincibles’.

Jose Mourinho can’t keep a straight face for his manager shoot

Manchester United host City tomorrow (4.30pm) in one of the most eagerly-anticipated Manchester derbies in recent seasons at Old Trafford.

City have conquered all before them and have yet to drop a point after 15 Premier League games.

United sit in second spot, eight points behind Pep Guardiola’s men, but they will be buoyed by their 3-1 win away to Arsenal last Saturday.

But Giggs, who won 13 league titles during his decorated spell with his time at United thinks City aren’t at the same level as the ‘Invincibles’ yet.

When asked whether City are the bigger club than United, Giggs told Sky Sports’ The Debate: “No. There are more academy players coming through at United than there are at City.

“United won two trophies last year, and City haven't won any for a couple of years.

"They are obviously very good, and with the spending power that they have got, every year they get closer, but still United, with the record that they have got, to go with the top manager and the top players, are still on top, but the gap is closing.

Ryan Giggs has laughed off suggestions Manchester City are the biggest clubs in Manchester

“With that spending power, and the coach that they have got, they will be very difficult to stop them over the next couple of years, because they are playing unbelievable football.

"But until you win that trophy, you can't start comparing them to Arsenal's Invincibles or other teams who have won the Premier League."

City beat United 2-1 on their previous league visit to Old Trafford last season.
