Independence police dog has new vest

An Independence police dog now has a new bullet-proof and stab-resistant vest.

Tyton wears the new body armor while on duty, thanks to the group "Vested Interest K-9s," which donated the vest, valued at 15-hundred dollars.

Tyton is an almost two-year old German Shepherd and has been trained for officers protection.

Right now, he spends most of his time on drug investigations.
