Odin Rathnam to perform with Hershey Symphony Orchestra

Odin Rathnam performs for students at the Capital Area Intermediate Unit.

The Hershey Symphony Orchestra will have two special guests for their concert on April 19.

The first, acclaimed violinist Odin Rathnam, is making a return to the Hershey Symphony Orchestra after a previous collaboration in 2002. Rathnam served as the concertmaster for the Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra for more than 20 years, and has performed in Harrisburg, York, Baltimore, New York, Switzerland, Denmark, and several other locations across the United States and Europe.

The second guest is Pyotr Illyich Tchaikovsky, who will, of course, only be there in spirit. The concert will feature his "Cossack Dance from Mazeppa," "Concerto for Violin and Orchestra in D Major" and "Symphony No. 6 in B minor."

These special guests will be joined by the eighty-plus members of the Hershey Symphony Orchestra, one of the largest all-volunteer orchestras in the nation, for their performance at the Hershey Theatre on April 19.
