Driver with 3 recent impaired charges pulled over again
A driver who has been charged with impaired driving three times in recent months was pulled over in St. John's again Wednesday afternoon.
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary says the man, who was not identified by police, was stopped in the west end of St. John's at about 3 p.m. after receiving a tip from the public.
Police say the 55-year-old driver, who has three recent impaired driving charges, was already prohibited from driving and was driving without insurance.
He tested higher than the provincial blood-alcohol limit, and police issued a new seven-day suspension from driving and charged him with driving while prohibited, breach of probation and driving without insurance.
The man's vehicle was seized and he was held to appear in provincial court in St. John's Thursday morning.
