Minoa man wins $3 million on lottery scratch-off

A Minoa man won $3 million on a lottery scratch-off game.

George Shiomos won the prize n the 50X The Money scratch-off game. He said when he realized he won, he went back to the store he bought it at to double check.

“I was shocked. I called my wife to tell her, but she didn’t believe me,” Shiomos said.

Shiomos chose to receive his prize in annual payments of about $100,770 a year for the next 20 years after the required holdings.

Shiomos said he will use the money to pay bills and help pay for his children's college education.

The New York Lottery said in a release that Shiomos is the 54th New York Lottery player to claim a prize more than $1 million in 2018.
