Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge was re-elected Tuesday.Click or tap here to see Arkansas election results.Rutledge, a Republican, defeated Democrat Mike Lee and Libertarian Kerry Hicks at the polls.She ran on a platform in favor of restrictions on abortion and against restrictions on gun ownership and use. She was endorsed by the National Rifle Association and Arkansas Right to Life. Rutledge is also battling Fayetteville in the courts over its anti-discrimination ordinance. Rutledge argues the city’s policy violates a 2015 Arkansas law that bans cities from enacting protections not covered by state law.Rutledge is a graduate of the University of Arkansas and got her law degree at UALR. She was first elected to the office in 2014. Rutledge is the only Republican and the only woman to ever serve as Arkansas Attorney General.
