Courtney Stodden files for divorce from Doug Hutchison and love is dead

Courtney Stodden has filed for divorce from Doug Hutchison after nearly seven years of marriage.

And, like that, it seems love is dead – because if a 16-year-old teenage bride can’t make love work, who can?

Okay, sass aside, it’s sad news for the estranged couple, who went their separate ways last year after trying the knot in 2011.

It was said they were trying to sort their shit out and reconcile, but 23-year-old Stodden has requested to legally dissolve their relationship.

Sad face.

It’s been reported by TMZ the reality star filed court documents on Tuesday March 6, but it’s unknown at the moment whether she or Doug, 57, will ask for spousal support.

Courtney announced the two had ended their marriage at the beginning of 2017 but neither of them had requested a divorce…at that stage.

She said to People: ‘We are legally separated … it’s only been, like, two and a half months. I’m also trying to take things slow because I love him and it’s really hard on him … it’s extremely sensitive.’

It seemed Courtney had already packed her suitcase and everything she owns in a box to the left as she took to Twitter last week and told followers all about ‘moving out of that Beverly Hills house’, or something like that.

The couple married in May 2011, but soon faced a mountain of backlash due to the fact Courtney was just 16 years old and Doug was 51.

And what ensued was a rollercoaster ride of emotion for all involved, as they split up just three years later because the model decided she wanted to ‘screw’ other men because she wasn’t afforded the chance to do so before she got married.

Because she was 16.

She said: ‘In that single spree, it wasn’t necessarily to be mature and find myself and stuff like that. I just wanted to go out and screw to be completely honest, because I had never had that opportunity.

‘I went from my parents to Doug. I didn’t go to prom or go on dates with other guys.’

The two came back together, but in 2013 Courtney appeared to enjoy a flirtation with Mario Falcone when the two were in the Celebrity Big Brother house.

Then in 2016 Courtney miscarried their baby which was said to put strain on the relationship.

She said of the time: ‘I think when a couple faces a difficult trial in life together, whatever that may be, it either tears you apart or brings you together. And I think right now we’re kind of in the kind of crossroads point where we’re trying to figure it out.’

Looks like they couldn’t figure it out.
