American Airlines said it will add nonstop air service from Kansas City International Airport to Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in Austin, Texas.
The flights start Sept. 8.
The airline said it will operate one daily flight each way and will add a second round trip Nov. 2, all with Embraer E175 regional jets.
"We're eager to add new service from Kansas City to Austin, giving local customers another choice for their travel plans," said Brian Znotins, American Airlines vice president of network planning. "We look forward to welcoming more Kansas City customers back to travel with American to experience all that Austin has to offer, as well as further connecting them to our global network."
Kansas City airport officials said Austin is the third most popular Texas destination from Kansas City.
