Assistance League donates $5,000 to help homeless veterans, seniors at Interfaith Community Services

ESCONDIDO: Assistance League donates $5,000 to
Members of the Assistance League of Inland North County’s project seniors committee donated $5,000 in Walmart and Target gift cards to buy furnishings for the rooms of homeless veterans and senior citizens living in Interfaith Community Services Safe Haven and Transitional Housing at the nonprofit’s Abraham & Lillian Turk Recuperative Care Center.
The Center will house folks in Interfaith’s Post-Hospitalization Recuperative Care Program and Interfaith’s Graduate Temporary Housing program, which helps its formerly homeless residents reach their goal of long-term independent housing. 30 meerkat sculptures part of exhibit at mall

The Shoppes at Carlsbad hosts “The Meerkat Meetup,” a monthlong, playful exhibit of oversized, brightly colored meerkat sculptures, through June 28 as part of a national tour, kicking off in Carlsbad. The mall partnered with artist collective Cracking Art to host the free exhibit of 30 nearly 4-foot-tall meerkats made of recyclable plastic.
