Cleo Eugene Eberhardt

Cleo Eugene Eberhardt, age 91, resident of Aneta, ND passed away Thursday, December 07, 2017 at the Aneta Parkview Health Center in Aneta, ND. Cleo was born February 20, 1926 on a farm north of Aneta, the son of Otto & Anna (Hillesland) Eberhardt. He attended country school before graduating Aneta High School in 1944. Cleo entered the United States Army on February 27, 1945 and was honorably discharged on December 18, 1946. He married Clarice Pederson on October 15, 1950 in Hannaford, ND. After their marriage they lived and farmed in the Aneta area. Clarice passed away May 19, 1998. Cleo loved his family, he enjoyed watching hummingbirds, going fishing and had a vast knowledge of trees. He was a recipient of the soil conservation award for planting a large and wide variety of trees on the farm.

Surviving members of the family include his daughters Sandi (Bob) Chapman of Cooperstown, ND, Ronda Karen (Clair) Zirnhelt of Grand Forks, ND and Ann (Sid) Norton of Cummings, ND, his sons Olley (Debbie) of Chaffee, ND, Claire (Brenda) of Aneta, ND and Daryl (Michelle) of Wahpeton, ND, 17 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren, brother Don (Myrtle) Eberhardt of Aneta, ND and sister AnnaBelle Johnson of Cooperstown, ND.

Cleo was preceded in death by his parents, wife, granddaughter Casie Eberhardt, great grandson Henry Nerat, brothers Robert and Ernest, sisters Ina Eberhardt, Marion Edwardson and Evelyn Smallbeck.

Funeral services for Cleo will be held Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in the Ottawa Lutheran Church, rural Aneta, ND. Visitation will be Saturday, December 9, 2017 starting at 11:00 a.m. and continuing until service time in the Ottawa Lutheran Church. Interment will be in the Ottawa Church Cemetery. Military honors provided by the Edward A. Broberg American Legion Post #16 and the North Dakota Military Honors Team. Memorials are preferred to the Ottawa Lutheran Church.
