Correction: AST previously released a dispatch report saying that 29-year-old Joseph Patrick Yaska "shot a family member who was fleeing the residence." The department has since put out a correction stating that the injured female is not related to Yaska.
Update - Aug. 28, 2:45 p.m.:

Alaska State Troopers have released the identities of both the fatally shot victim and the injured victim in Aniak.

According to an AST dispatch report, 24-year-old Bruce Morgan of Aniak has been pronounced dead. Next-of-kin has been notified. Troopers say the Alaska State Medical Examiner's Office will perform an autopsy.

Troopers also identify the injured victim as Jessica Lee of Aniak. AST corrects themselves and now says that "Lee is not a family member of Yaska, as previously reported."

Original Story - Aug. 27, 8:22 p.m.:

Alaska State Troopers are investigating a deadly shooting in Aniak that happened Sunday at 2:19 a.m.

According to the daily dispatch log, 29-year-old Joseph Patrick Yaska of Aniak has been taken into custody for charges including murder in the first degree, attempted murder in the first degree, misconduct involving a weapon in the second degree and assault charges.

Troopers say the shooting was reported early Sunday morning.

"The investigation revealed that Joseph shot a family member who was fleeing the residence," the dispatch log states.

AST said that person is recovering from injuries.

Yaska is accused of then fatally shooting a "non-family member."

"Joseph continued to shoot in a nearby residence almost hitting several people," according to Troopers.

The identities of both victims have not been publicly released, at this time.

Yaska is in custody at the Yukon Kuskokwim Correctional Center in Bethel.

The Alaska Bureau of Investigation and Bethel Violent Offender's Unit also responded to the village to investigate.
