An accident on the southbound carriageway of the M1 caused delays for motorists this afternoon.
According to traffic information company Inrix, the incident happened between Junction 29 A617/A6175 for Chesterfield/Mansfield and Junction 28 A38 for Alfreton/Mansfield at around 3.45pm.
One lane was closed and there was heavy traffic in the area.
All lanes were reopened at around 4.15pm and traffic had returned to normal by 5.15pm.

Traffic returned to normal
Traffic on the carriageway is now free-flowing, according to traffic information company Inrix, and the incident has been cleared.
Traffic still slow
There is still heavy traffic in the area but it is expected to clear very shortly.
Congestion easing
The areas surrounding the incident are beginning to clear and vehicles are no longer stuck in standstill traffic, according to Highways England.
There is still some congestion on approach to Junction 28 from the A38.
All lanes reopened
Traffic information company Inrix is reporting that all lanes have now been reopened, however, delays remain.

The carriageway closest to the camera is northbound which is unaffected by the incident.
