Joseph V. Wharton, 82, of Deer Creek, MN, passed away on Tuesday, September 11, 2018, at the V.A. Medical Center, Fargo, ND. Joseph was born in Ohio on June 26, 1936, to Tracy and Alda (Woltz) Wharton. He grew up and attended school in Logan, OH, before enlisting in the U.S. Army where he served in the Korean War. Joseph married Nancy Enderle in Ohio in 1967. Over the years, they lived in Florida and Ohio and Joe took pride in working as a mechanic. They later decided to move to Minnesota and start a dairy farm. He enjoyed being outdoors and working on his equipment and especially restoring his old cars. He will be dearly missed.

Joseph is survived by his wife of 51 years, Nancy; daughter, Kathy (Dean) Haaland; granddaughters, Jennifer (Trenton) Larrieu, Kayla (Matthew Schneider) Haaland; great-grandchildren, Addysin, Brantley and Harleigh; and brother, Carl.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Howard, Ralph, Paul, Ruth and Bill.

Visitation will be on Thursday, September 13, from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., followed by the prayer service at 7:00 p.m., at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead.
