Thanksgiving is less than two weeks away, and the holiday events are piling up.

- Join the Silver Bow Hospitality Association for an upscale evening tasting wines from around the world at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at the Finlen Hotel. Guests will receive a wine glass. Tickets include all wine samples and hors d'oeuvres. There will be a wine related auction as well. The event benefits the Butte Chamber of Commerce. Tickets are $50 a person and can be purchased at the Butte Chamber of Commerce, 1000 George St.
- In honor of Veterans Day, Butte Catholic Community North will celebrate a “Red, White and Blue Mass” at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at St. Patrick’s Church. The Mass is an opportunity for veterans, active duty military personnel, their families and the public to join together in prayer. The Mass will honor all veterans, those who have served and those who are serving. It’s also to pray for the deceased veterans, those who have given their lives, have been wounded or are missing in action. People are encouraged to place photos of the military on the church’s “Board of Honor” in the vestibule or drop them off at the parish office, 102 S. Washington St., to be placed on the board. - Dance to the music of the Butte Big Band from 7 to midnight Saturday, Nov. 10, at the Butte Elks Lodge, Galena and Montana. The big swing band plays from 7 to 10 p.m., and a small jazz band plays from 10 to midnight. Tickets are $10 per person. Proceeds go towards replacing the Elks’ roof.
- Uptown Butte businesses are gearing up for the holiday season and invite shoppers and browsers alike to visit from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, and to sign up for a drawing to win this year's Bundle of Butte the two weeks before that. Early shoppers too will be able to sign up in participating stores to win a bundle literally. They can stop by Uptown businesses and enter for the drawing. Shoppers are encouraged to visit Uptown businesses through Nov. 11 to sign up. The drawing will take place Tuesday, Nov. 13. - Butte Knights of Columbus Butte Council 668 will have its monthly fundraiser breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon Sunday, Nov. 11, at 224 W. Park St. Proceeds from this month’s breakfast will go to “Coats for Kids.” The menu includes French toast, bacon, sausage, hash browns, eggs, coffee, and juice. - The Butte-Silver Bow Archives is hosting two presentations on a selection of photographs from the C. Owen Smithers Photograph Collection. “Butte, Smithers, and the Brawl of the Wild” will run at the noon Brown Bag Lunch and again at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, in the large auditorium at 17 W. Quartz St. This is the third of several themed presentations from the Smithers Collection. Bob Chamberlin and Dan Peters will showcase images from the Smithers Collection that illustrate Butte’s role as the host of the cross-state rivalry between the Montana State Bobcats and the University of Montana Grizzlies. Guests are invited to bring a brown bag lunch to the noon presentation. Coffee and water will be served. Attendance is limited to 100 and doors will open 30 minutes before the lecture. The Friends of the Hearst Free Library will screen "Hail the Conquering Hero" starring Eddie Bracken and Ella Raines at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, at 401 Main St., Anaconda. Finding NeverLand comes to the Mother Lode stage at 8 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 27. The Broadway musical tells the fascinating story of how Peter became Pan. Based on the Academy Award-winning film of the same name, this breathtaking show follows playwright J.M. Barrie as he summons the courage to become the writer – and the man – he yearns to be. Barrie finds the inspiration he’s been missing when he meets the beautiful widow Sylvia and her four young sons: Jack, George, Michael and Peter. The 28th annual Butte Christmas Stroll will be Friday, Nov. 30, in Uptown Butte. The tree-lighting ceremony begins at 6:30 p.m. on the steps of the Butte-Silver Bow County Courthouse. At 6:45, the Children's Light Parade winds its way through Uptown Butte to Park and Main. In addition, there will be music and dancing performances at the courthouse rotunda and at the Northwestern Energy Auditorium at 11 E. Park St.
The Sheridan Christmas Stroll begins at 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, on Sheridan’s Main Street. Details: 406-596-1005.
The Grant Kohrs Ranch will host their annual Holiday Open House from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2. Celebrate the holiday season by stepping back in time to see the Kohrs home decorated in historic Victorian style. View Kohrs family heirlooms on display through the holidays. Some items will only be on display only during the event. Also enjoy children's activities, wagon rides and more.
Hope Lutheran Church ladies will host the annual Florence Crittenton/New Hope Pregnancy Baby Shower and dinner at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, at 1506 W. Pennsylvania Ave., Anaconda. The Butte Symphony Guild’s annual Holiday Home Tour is from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8. Tickets are $15 or two for $25, and will go on sale Nov. 15. In addition, tea will be served from 3 to 5 p.m. at The Springs. 300 Mount Highland Dr. The event supports the Butte Symphony, Montana’s longest playing symphony orchestra. The tour includes the homes of Maggie Trimiew and John Snider, Jill Barber and Roy Hansen, Terry Murphy, George Johnson, and Bonnie and Todd Hawke. The Elling House Arts and Humanities Center will host the annual “Splendid Feast” Friday and Saturday, Dec. 14-15, at 404 E. Idaho St., Virginia City. The historic Virginia City home is decorated, inside and out, presenting a venue for an evening of good food, whimsical ambience and holiday cheer. The evening begins at 6:30, with the Wassail social hour; a four-course dinner is served at 7. Tickets, which are $50, must be purchased in advance by calling 406-843-5454.
