ROAD CHAOS

Icy conditions causing carnage on Scotland’s roads as drivers face mass delays

There are reports of a car having overturned on the M90 southbound road near Junction eight, which is also causing major delays

WINTER weather has caused carnage on Scotland's roads this morning as commuters bid to make their way around the country.

A four vehicle accident on the A83 near the Rest and Be Thankful viewpoint at 8.35am has caused huge delays for drivers.

The A710 is blocked from 1 mile outside New Abbey, Dumfries, after a road smash.

There are no serious injuries but police remain on the scene, with the road expected to re-open in around 20 minutes.

A woman and her son, aged 11, were injured after her car overturned on the M90 near the Perth junction around 8.40am.

The female driver picked up minor injuries and delays will remain in place until the vehicle is removed from the road.

Icy conditions has seen the A78 close in both directions between North Ayrshire between the Pennyburn Roundabout and the Eglinton Interchange.

A car has smashed into trees on the A941 at Rothes Glen as ice hit overnight. Emergency services are on the scene.

The A83, A814 around Arrochar has saw lanes closed in both directions for up to an hour.

And an accident on the A75 Annan to Dumfries East road means all lanes are restricted for 30 minutes.
