SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Several protesters were arrested in downtown San Diego Friday night as demonstrators gathered following a grand jury announcement in the Breonna Taylor case.

San Diego Police tweeted just before 11 p.m. that three protesters were arrested at B Street and Columbia Street.

One of the demonstrators was arrested for robbery of a cell phone while two others were arrested for interfering with an arrest. Police said a cell phone was stolen from a victim while they were recording the protesters.

Police said earlier that roughly 40 to 50 protesters gathered in the downtown area.

“We are again with the group to ensure they remain safe and the community remains safe. Traffic may be temporarily interrupted,” the department tweeted.
