The Independent Filmmaker Project announced today the full list of selections for its Project Forum happening during the upcoming IFP Independent Film Week, held at New York City’s Lincoln Center September 20-15, 2015.
The forum is a meetings-driven event seeking to connect key industry executives looking for new projects, with filmmakers who have new narrative or documentary projects under development, production or post-production. The aim is to facilitate relationships between the filmmakers and potential investors, festival programers, collaborators and buys that could last through the filmmaker’s career. This year’s forum will include 140 projects.
The Project Forum is made up of RBC’s Emerging Storytellers program, No Borders International Co-Production Market and Spotlight on Documentaries.
RBC’s Emerging Storytellers
Short filmmakers Jennifer Reeder (Blood Below the Skin) and Dean C. Marcial (Sea Devil) will present both new works and sophomore projects from Charles Poekel (Christmas, Again) and Andrew Semans (Nancy, Please). Meanwhile, the Web Storytellers Spotlight, now in its second year, will showcase five projects written and directed by women. Among the included filmmakers are Emily Carmichael (RPG OKC), the directorial debut from producer Chanelle Aponte Pearson (An Oversimplification of Her Beauty), and season two of the web-series Eat Our Feelings from Emma Jane Gonzalez and Sasha Winters.
