Fan voting will decide the Hollis Wright Huntsville Region Basketball Player of the Week. Nominees come from game info submitted to dboyette@al.com on game nights from Jan. 14-19.

Voting will end at noon Thursday and you can vote once per hour. The poll is located below the nominees list.

The nominees:

Deyana Dodd, Sparkman: Recorded 25 points, seven rebounds and five assists in a 72-61 win at Grissom.

Kathleen Wheeler, Priceville: The sophomore scored 15 points and eclipsed 500 career assists in a 64-35 win over West Morgan.

Brandon Nicholas, Mae Jemison: Scored 21 points in an 84-75 win over Buckhorn.

Jalen Myers, Bob Jones: Had a double-double (16 points, 10 rebounds) in a 54-43 win over archrival James Clemens.

Trinity Bell, Albertville: Recorded 14 points and 10 rebounds in a 56-41 win over Arab.

Tatyanna Davis Lee-Huntsville: Finished with 20 points, nine rebounds and four steals in a 64-34 win over Buckhorn.

GianCarlo Valdez, Decatur Heritage: Recorded 10 points, six assists and four steals in a 77-32 win over Falkville.

Xavier Griffith, Grissom: Scored 22 points and made several clutch free throws in a 53-50 win over archrival Huntsville.

Kobe Brown, Lee-Huntsville: Poured in 30 points in a 70-50 win over Buckhorn.

Malik Tyson, Sparkman: Had 16 points and 14 rebounds in a 74-40 win over Gadsden City.

Editor’s note: There were some irregularities in the voting. Tyson received 44 percent of his votes from three IP addresses; Bell received 91 percent of his votes from two IP addresses; and Dodd received 40 percent of her votes from three IP addresses.
