A new Beyond the Books investigation reveals that Utah charter schools spend almost $2.1 million on advertising.

Charter schools are allocated taxpayer money based on how many students fill their seats. Their administrators argue that without getting the word out, there is no school, so the investment is necessary.

But some charter schools lean much heavier on marketing than others.

Facebook ads, mobile ads, billboards and broadcast commercials to lure kids to charter schools competing for your dollars – Thursday night at 10 p.m.
