VA Congressional Candidate Supports Women As Property, Pedophilia

In his campaign statement, Nathan Larson calls for "benevolent white supremacy" and a system that "classifies women as property."

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA — Nathan Larson, an accountant and candidate for Virginia's 10th congressional district, is a convicted felon and admitted to being a pedophile.

In an interview with the Huffington Post, Larson said he wrote about pedophilia and raping his late ex-wife on now-shut down websites. He admitted to writing a post about father-daughter incest and raping his ex-wife, even claiming that some women have "rape fantasies."

Larson, 37, is running as an independent for the 10th congressional district seat, currently represented by Barbara Comstock, in this month's primary election. In his campaign manifesto, the candidate details platforms such as "benevolent white supremacy" and a system that categorizes women as property "initially of their fathers and later of their husbands." He calls Adolf Hitler a "white supremacist hero" and says he supports repealing the Violence Against Women Act.

Larson previously ran for Congress in Virginia’s 1st congressional district in 2008. In December of that same year, the Secret Service received a letter from Larson threatening to kill the president, leading to a 14-month federal prison sentence. He had not been able to run for public office until 2016, when then-Gov. Terry McAuliffe restored rights for hundreds of thousands of convicted felons.

Last year, Larson ran for a Virginia House of Delegates seat representing parts of Prince William and Fauquier Counties but garnered less than 2 percent of the votes, HuffPost reported.

Larson has one daughter with his ex-wife, who died by suicide. His child lives with other relatives, as he gave up custody. Larson has since remarried and now lives in Catlett in Fauquier County.

On whether his ideals will impact the congressional race, Larson tells HuffPo, "A lot of people are tired of political correctness and being constrained by it. People prefer when there’s an outsider who doesn’t have anything to lose and is willing to say what’s on a lot of people’s minds."

Virginia's primary election will be held on June 12. Nominees for each party will face off in the general election on Nov. 6.
