After falling apart in the final seconds to drop a nightmare loss to the Washington Wizards on Friday, the Golden State Warriors desperately needed to bounce back on Saturday against the Houston Rockets.

In the second leg of Golden State’s home back-to-back, Steph Curry stepped up. The seven-time All-Star point guard torched the Rockets for a game-high 38 points on 13-of-21 shooting from the floor with eight 3-pointers to lead the Warriors to a much-needed 125-109 win at Chase Center. Curry added eight rebounds, five assists and a steal in 35 minutes.

Curry has now tallied 32 or more points in his last six games, averaging 36 points on 52.6% from the field and 43.2% from beyond the arc.

Andrew Wiggins tacked on 25 points on 11-of-21 shooting from the floor with six boards, three assists and two blocks in 36 minutes against the Rockets.

The Warriors will get a day off before the red-hot Denver Nuggets travel to San Francisco on Monday night.

Jordan Poole

After going scoreless against the Wizards, Jordan Poole responded with an impressive performance off the bench against the Rockets. The second-year guard tallied 21 points on 8-of-11 shooting from the field with four assists and three steals in 25 minutes.

Kent Bazemore

With Kelly Oubre Jr. sidelined with a sore wrist, the Warriors called Kent Bazemore up to the starting lineup against the Rockets. Bazemore was all over the floor, recording nine points on 4-of-9 shooting from the floor with seven boards, four assists, two steals and a block in 32 minutes. Bazemore finished the game with a plus-10 rating, only trailing Draymond Green’s plus-15 in the starting lineup.

James Wiseman Injury

After getting blocked by Kenyon Martin Jr. on a dunk attempt in the second quarter, James Wiseman left the game with a knee injury and didn’t return on Saturday night. According to Steve Kerr, the second overall pick from the 2020 draft will undergo an MRI on either Saturday night or Sunday. There are still few details around Wiseman’s injury.

Prior to leaving the game, Wiseman notched six points on 3-of-5 shooting from the floor with a rebound and a steal in six minutes.
