Model Shanina Shaik and DJ Ruckus Are Engaged (and It's All Thanks to Lenny Kravitz and Denzel Washington)

If you thought you caught up with all the celebs ringing in the new year with an engagement, we have one more (insanely adorable) proposal to share with you. DJ Ruckus sealed the deal with supermodel Shanina Shaik in a romantic beach-side proposal, which was all thanks to the help of Lenny Kravitz and Denzel Washington. (Yes, that’s a lot of A-list names for one romantic proposal.)

The DJ popped the question while the couple was vacationing on Kravitz’s secluded private beach in the Bahamas — to which Ruckus easilyscored an invite, since he and Kravitz are cousins. And while the scene looked picture-perfect, he had a few key people to thank for the smooth delivery.

He decided to propose on December 26, but since the FedEx man doesn’t deliver on Christmas Day, Ruckus enlisted family friend (and Oscar award-winner!) Washington and his wife Pauletta to bring the rings from L.A. so they were there in time for the special moment.

And yes, you read that correctly, there were two rings on standby during the big moment. Ruckus had celebrity jeweler Lorraine Schwartz help him design the perfect rings (after all, she’s delivered for stars including Jennifer Aniston, Blake Lively and Julianne Hough) and decided to create two rings to let Shaik choose her favorite (incredible, right?).

She landed on the large gold hexagon-cut diamond, which also has their initials engraved in diamonds and amethysts (Shaik’s birthstone) under the ring.

After the proposal, the duo partied with their friends and family on the island (which of course included cousins Lenny and his daughter Zoë Kravitz). And Ruckus already started the engagement off on the right foot (that is, earning major brownie points from his future mother-in-law) by Facetiming her favorite actor (who happens to be Ruckus’s good friend), Tyrese Gibson, to let Shaik’s mom share the news.
