Circular mansion once owned by Jackie Gleason hits the market for $12M
A circular mansion that was once home to “Honeymooners” star Jackie Gleason has hit the market for $12 million. Gleason designed the 3,950-square-foot, two-bedroom “Round House” in Cortlandt Manor himself, the New York Post reported. The comedian, who was fascinated by UFOs, called the house “The Mothership,” according to the outlet. Its current owner is a retired orthodontist who purchased the home for $150,000 in 1976. Margaret Bailey, Howard Payson and Jacqueline Campanelli of Keller Williams have the listing. [NYP]

Four projects in Westchester receive $28.4M in financial benefits
Two economic development agencies in Westchester County will help fund mixed-use projects in White Plains and Pelham and senior facilities in Ossining and at Purchase College, the Westchester County Business Journal reported. The Westchester County Industrial Development Agency and the Westchester County Local Development Corp. committed a total of around $28.4 million in financial benefits, including sales and mortgage tax exemptions, to the projects last week, the outlet reported. The White Plains mixed-use project, dubbed The Connection, will house 276 apartments and 24,526 square feet of retail space, while the Pelham project will comprise a pair of five-story buildings that house 58 apartments, 4,370 square feet of retail space and parking spots. Developers buy Darien campus for $4.9M with plans to renovate, rebrand
A pair of developers have shelled out $4.9 million for the Darien Green office campus, according to the Fairfield County Business Journal. The campus includes a 50,182-square-foot office building and a 29,105-square-foot office building, both of which are on Boston Post Road. The new owners, Fletcher Development, of Redding, and Silver Heights Development, of Westport, plan to upgrade the entire campus and rename it Darien Crossing. “We see this as a blank canvas, and as such, there is great opportunity to differentiate ourselves and to bring something unique to the market,” one of the new owners said. NYC Department of Buildings examiner takes the helm as chief building official in Stamford
Stamford has a new chief building official, the Fairfield County Business Journal reports. Bharat Gami, who was the chief plan examiner of the Manhattan Plan Examination for the New York City Department of Buildings, will fill the post that Robert DeMarco left when he retired last month, according to the outlet. Gami was part of the team that developed the DOB’s online portal DOB NOW. “Bharat’s extensive experience in both the public and private sectors will be beneficial to the building permit process and code compliance for all types of residences and commercial buildings in Stamford,” Mayor David Martin said. Buyer snaps up pair of rental apartment buildings in Yonkers for $6.3M
A buyer shelled out $6.3 million for a pair of rental apartment buildings on Rollins Street in Yonkers, LoHud reported. The two buildings purchased by 4639 White Plains Road Corp. house a total of 27 apartments. The seller, Rollins 182026 LLC, bought the buildings for $3.945 million in 2016. [LoHud]

Fairfield County towns to put grant money toward senior housing improvements
Two municipalities in Fairfield County will receive grants from the state of Connecticut for modernization and development projects, the Fairfield County Business Journal reported. Shelton and Trumbull will each get $800,000 through the Community Development Block Grant Small Cities program. Shelton will use the money to start modernizing a public housing complex for seniors, and Trumbull will use it to renovate a senior rental housing development, according to the outlet. The grants are “investments in our neighborhoods, in the people who live here and in our economic future,” Gov. Dannel Malloy said. [FBJ]
