Report: Auburn basketball will play in 2019 Legends Classic

Former VCU transfer Samir Doughty has helped Auburn get off to a hot start this season.

Auburn basketball will be participating in the 2019 Legends Classic, per a CBS Sports report. The event takes place at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. The other participants include New Mexico and Richmond, along with one undecided team.

The event this year will take place on Nov. 19 and 20, with two semifinal games involving St. John’s vs. California, and Temple vs. VCU. The two winners face off the following day, as do the two losers.

The event has taken place since 2007, and has been played at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ, Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, NJ, the IZOD Center in East Rutherford, NJ, and at Barclays Center since 2012.

Auburn is currently in Maui for this year’s Thanksgiving tournament. They will be competing in the Maui Invitational starting on Monday in a 1:30 CST game against Xavier.
