The severe drought is having a negative effect on the Animas River in Farmington.

The Animas River, which runs through New Mexico and southern Colorado, was measured recently to have a flow at zero-cubic-feet-per-second.

That means the river is all but dried up, with only a trickle of water flowing.

The river usually peaks at 4,700 cubic-feet-per-second in early June.

This year’s drought is on track to be the second driest year in 120 years.
