Some Democratic Candidates Are Running Ads Against Nancy Pelosi
She’s long been a Republican target. Now some in her own party are joining in.
Assailing Nancy Pelosi has been campaign commercial fodder for Republicans for years. Predictably, Pelosi is once again the subject of several campaign ads, but this time it’s not just for Republicans. Some Democrats are making their opposition to the House minority leader explicit in 30-second ads airing less than a month before the Nov. 6 election.
“We’ve been sold out by people like Nancy Pelosi, Mitch McConnell and the Washington insiders,” West Virginia Democrat Richard Ojeda, a tough-talking, tattooed Army veteran and state senator, said in a spot airing in a hardscrabble and culturally conservative district where President Donald Trump won by 50 percentage points in 2016 and remains popular.
