Speed a factor in wrong-way crash in Port Washington, police say

PORT WASHINGTON - Police cited a 37-year-old Menomonee Falls man for speeding and a host of other offenses April 1 after he crashed his car in a single-vehicle wrong-way accident.

According to a police report, the crash occurred at about 4 a.m. near South Wisconsin Street and South Beach Road.

Brad Behlmer was driving south on Wisconsin Street when his car crossed the centerline into the northbound lane before continuing across the roadway and striking a curb on the east side of the street.

Behlmer drove over the curb and crashed his Ford Mustang into a bed of rocks, according to the report, which did not mention any injuries.

Police issued Behlmer five citations in connection with the accident, including for unreasonable and imprudent speed and failure to keep his vehicle under control.
