BARRETT TOWNSHIP, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) – One woman is in the hospital following a fire that broke out Sunday morning.
The fire was reported around 9:20 AM on Laurel Grove Court just off of 447 in Barrett Township.
Officials at the scene say the homeowner suffered severe smoke inhalation and escaped the fire by jumping out of the second-floor window. She was flown to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
We have not received word on the current condition of the victim.
