Eutaw man killed in head-on collision

A Eutaw man was killed in a head-on collision in Greene County Saturday.

Jayson Alexander McCollum, 19, was driving a 2008 Chevolet Cobalt that collided with a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado on Alabama Highway 39, according to Alabama State Troopers.

John Gregory, 33, was driving the Silverado. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries, troopers  said.

McCollum was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the car. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash happened at 12:20 p.m. about six miles west of Eutaw.

Troopers are investigating the cause of the crash.
