Amy Steele performs song Long Way Home from debut EP Memories in Watercolour

Having studied to be a doctor, London-based singer-songwriter Amy Steele is no stranger to doing things with medical precision.

And her music is no exception.

Having previously collaborated with both Mario and The Game, the young soulful singer is now back with Long Way Home, the second track to be taken from her debut EP, Memories in Watercolour.

Recorded in an exclusive music session in RAK Studios in London, Steele performs the song, which premieres on Telegraph.co.uk.

Long Way Home sees Steele expressing her personal feelings as she explores separations.

"Long Way Home is about that feeling you get when you know you're about to part from someone after spending an evening out together," explains Steele.

"When you want to prolong your time together, but knowing the further you go the sooner you will have to part.

"The slightly haunting feeling that a goodbye is definite and imminent but also a celebration of your connection and time together."

The song showcases Steele’s smooth and silky vocals and lyrical songwriting, which are in turn vulnerable, provocative and perfectly delivered in her unique and distinctive style.

Produced by Alex Wells (Rizzle Kicks), Memories in Watercolour examines relationships, with each song representing a different stage.

Steele has been in the studio, working with Wells and a host of other international producers to create a record that reflects her artistry and who she is musically.

And, by listening to the results, she appears to be a woman who knows exactly who she is.
