A 35-year-old mother from Foreston, Minnesota is dead after a crash Tuesday that took place on Highway 23 in Benton County. The mother had three of her children in the car at the time, and two of them suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The Minnesota State Patrol (MSP) reported that the mother, Lindsay Marie Cardinal, was driving a 2000 Chevrolet Tahoe eastbound on Highway 23 when she was struck by a 2004 GMC Yukon that was traveling westbound and had crossed the center line.

Alcohol and/or drug use is suspected of the driver of the Yukon, Kevin Couch, 29, of Milaca, Minnesota. Couch has two previous DWI convictions and was recently cited for driving with a revoked license, KARE 11 reported.

A GoFundMe page has been established to raise money for the family:

On the evening of Jan. 31, 2017, a loving mother and wife was taken from her family far too soon. Lindsay Cardinal, was involved in a head on crash with another vehicle. Lindsay's young children, Lilly (5), Wyatt (4) and Evelyn (1) were also in the vehicle. All 3 of the children we transported to St. Cloud Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Lindsay was a wonderful woman, with a contagious smile. The Cardinal Family has a long road ahead of them. In attempt to ease some of the financial burden, with funeral costs and medical bills, I ask that of you have the means, please consider donating to this beautiful family. If you can not afford to donate but want to help, please keep this family in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you!
