Rapper Rich the Kid doing 'OK' after armed robbery outside of West Hollywood studio

Rapper Rich the Kid is OK after being attacked in an armed robbery in West Hollywood.

A representative for the 26-year-old rapper, born Dimitri Roger, told USA TODAY that "Rich is OK" following the attack outside of the esteemed Westlake Recording Studios.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department would not confirm Roger's identity, but did say officers responded to "a robbery that occurred on the 7200 block of Santa Monica Boulevard, West Hollywood, at approximately 3:13 pm" Tuesday.

Rich the Kid was robbed in LA Tuesday.

In a statement, Deputy Trina Schrader said three suspects, who she described as black males, assaulted and robbed three victims of their jewelry and money in an alley. TMZ reports that the victims included Roger and two members from his entourage.

"All the suspects got into a vehicle and drove away, westbound from the location," Schrader continued. "As the suspects drove away, a shooting occurred by an unknown male suspect. The shooting suspect has not been located or identified."

The victims were treated for minor injuries but did not require hospitalization, the statement adds. So far, no arrests have been made.

TMZ said that Usher was recording in the studio at the time, but the Sheriff's Department confirmed to USA TODAY that he was not present during the robbery.

Just hours before the attack, Roger posted an Instagram picture of himself flashing stacks of cash while standing in front of a Lamborghini. He captioned the picture, "for motivational purposes only" before editing the caption to read: "Always in bank mo deposit."

Roger released his debut album "The World Is Yours" in March 2018, including hit singles "New Freezer," featuring Kendrick Lamar, and "Plug Walk." Chris Brown, Future, Lil Wayne, Rick Ross and Migos members Quavo and Offset also appear on his album.
