After nearly four years away, an old locomotive from the mid-20th century has come home to Duluth.

The Southeastern Railway Museum recently announced the Southern Railway No. 6901 E8a diesel passenger locomotive returned to the museum after an extensive restoration project that focused heavily on getting its electrical system and motor back in working order. The locomotive is nearly 70 years old and has been a part of the museum’s collection since 1979.
