First Snow In Fairfax County: Numerous Roads Closed
As Fairfax County sees the season's first snowfall, police are reporting crashes and road closures.
FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA—What forecasters anticipated as a wintry mix turned into the first snowfall of the season for Fairfax and the DC region Thursday. Nov. 15. With it came slick road conditions and reports of traffic issues around the county.
Police said via Twitter Thursday morning "accidents are up across the county right now and the roads are getting worse." Of note, a three-vehicle crash in the 7600 block of Clifton Road in Fairfax Station closed a portion of the road around 8 a.m. Fairfax County Fire and Rescue said two cars ran off the road and one struck a pole. The crash brought down a pole and wires.
