Early voting off to busy start in Oklahoma County

Darla Slipke

A line of more than 275 voters wrapped around the side of the Oklahoma County Election Board office and stretched across the front of the building and into the parking lot Thursday morning during the first day of in-person early voting.

Some voters, who came hoping to avoid long lines on Election Day, reported waiting in line for an hour or longer to cast their ballots Thursday morning.

Here are a few scenes from the county election board office:

Early voting runs until 6 p.m. Thursday and continues from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

Oklahomans can vote early at the county election board office in the county in which they are registered. Voters who live in Cleveland, Oklahoma and Tulsa counties also have the option of visiting a satellite location.
