Pick up the duck phone and call your guido and guidette friends: It’s T-shirt time!
One of MTV’s trashiest reality shows ever, “Jersey Shore,” premiered on Dec. 3, 2009.
The show’s cast members — only two of whom actually hailed from the Garden State — gave New Jersey a worse reputation than it already.
Nicole (Snooki) Polizzi, Mike (The Situation) Sorrentino, Jenni (JWoww) Farley, Paul (Pauly D) DelVecchio, Vinny Guadagnino, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, Deena Nicole Cortese and Angelina Pivarnick drank, fought and partied their way across the shore and abroad.
For six seasons, the Jersey Shore chronicled the lives of adults that couldn’t handle their liquor or anger issues, fist pumped and tanned too much.
So grab your “Ron Ron Juice” and take a look at the show’s 10 most ridiculous moments:
10. Ham and water
Drunk meals are hard to come by in Ocean County.
Shore town residents don’t have access to Seamless or restaurants open late like New Yorkers do.
Snooki and JWoww frequently satisfied their post-Karma food cravings by consuming…ham and water.
9. Ron’s mom drunk dials the Duck Phone
Drunkenness ran rampant on the Jersey Shore but the oddest conversation on the Duck Phone was a drunk dial courtesy of Ron’s mother.
Denna answered and the Ron’s mom muttered about Ronnie and Sam’s relationship through slurred speech.
Ron didn’t take it too well.
8. Debauchery in Italy
A bunch of trashy Americans get a free trip to Italy and turn it into…basically another day at the Jersey Shore.
Deena let her inhibitions go when the group goes clubbing and forgets to wear underwear, Mike (The Situation) plays a sick joke on Snooki and later in the trip she crashes a rent-a-car into an Italian police cruiser.
7. Mike “The Situation” slams his head into a wall and has to wear a neck brace
There’s little evidence of the cast members actually using their heads over the span of three seasons, but the Situation literally used his noggin at one point.
Moments before him and, you guessed it, Ronnie were about to brawl in the house, Mike tried to pump himself up by running head first into a wall — a strong overall description of the reality series.
6. The Angelina name-calling
Out of all women on the show, Angelina received the most tongue-lashings from the men.
Her “Queen of Staten Island attitude,” which led to Mike (The Situation) calling her the Staten Island dump, didn’t help her case, but it wasn’t anything out of the ordinary when compared to how her housemates acted.
5. Pauly D and Vinny’s bromance
The best bros on the Jersey Shore were easily Pauly D and Vinny
From Jersey to Miami to Italy and back again, the two were always side by side entertaining the whole gang.
Pauly D and Vinny were notoriously yelling “It’s T-Shirt time!!!!!” and “Cabs are heaaaaaa” to rile up their fellow roomies are just a few of the Jersey Shore’s most common catch phrases stemmed from the blossoming bromance.
The defining moment that put their friendship on the map?
“On the beach I had a piece of lint in my hair and Vinny took it out and that was the nicest thing anyone has ever done for me,” Pauly said.
4. Snooki gets arrested on the beach
“WHERE’S THE BEACH?” a drunken Snooki cried out while running along the boardwalk with the ocean directly in front of her face. After drinking all day long, Snooki gets so wasted that several cops arrest her on the beach for being drunk and disorderly. When the officers are slapping on the handcuffs, she yells, “I’m a f—ing good person.”
3. All the Sammi and Ronnie drama
Sammi and Ronnie’s relationship problems caused scenes that you couldn’t write into a soap opera.
The repercussions of Sammi finding out about his infidelities through JWoww’s “anonymous” letter caused three separate physical altercations, highlighted of course by Ronnie throwing all of Sam’s possessions around, while she latched onto her bed like a “spider monkey.”
2. Ronnie’s “other” fights
Ronnie didn’t only argue with Sammi, the self-proclaimed “sweetest bitch you’ll ever meet.”
The Bronx-native twice brought his anger to the streets of Seaside Heights, both times after nights full of Ron Ron Juice.
One of the altercations wasn’t much of a fight at all, as Ronnie only needed “one punch,” kid.
1. Snooki gets punched in the face
BOOM! A grown man knocks out the tiny meatball in a boardwalk bar after she confronts him for stealing the group’s shots. Don’t mess with the cast of the Jersey Shore’s alcohol.
“It’s not for you! Who are you?” Snooki yells at Brad Ferro, a gym teacher from Queens, before he knocks her out so hard she falls to the ground. An all-out brawl ensues in the Beachcomber Bar & Grill in Seaside Heights as Ferro is carried out by cops.
The knock-out punch was one of the most defining moments of the series — causing a stir on why MTV even allowed the clip to be aired.
Ferro was arrested after the incident on charges of assault and disorderly conduct.
