One dead, one wounded in Tuscaloosa shooting

A shooting early Thursday morning left one person dead and another seriously injured in Tuscaloosa.

The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit responded at approximately 12:40 a.m. to the 1900 block of 29th Avenue on a shooting, according to Capt. Gary Hood. When officers arrived, they found two men with gunshot wounds lying on the ground outside a house at that address.

One victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Hood said that victim has been identified as 32-year-old Jarvis Anthony Hudson, of Tuscaloosa.

The wounded victim was taken to DCH Regional Medical Center, where Hood said he is listed in critical condition.
