New York Attorney General Files Suit Against Trump Family and Foundation Accusing Them of Engaging in 'Illegal Conduct'

The New York attorney general on Thursday filed a lawsuit against Donald Trump, his children and the Donald J. Trump foundation, alleging his charity engaged in “illegal conduct,” Reuters reports.


According to a statement released Thursday by New York Attorney General Barbara Underwood’s office, the Trump foundation and its directors, Trump, Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka Trump and Eric Trump for “extensive and persistent violations of state and federal law.”

“Our investigation found that the Trump Foundation raised in excess of $2.8 million in a manner designed to influence the 2016 presidential election at the direct and under the control of the senior leadership of the Trump presidential campaign," the attorney general said.
