Illinois moves two spots to No. 1 in the Bushnell Golfweek Coaches Poll after a preseason ranking of No. 3.
After inking head coach Mike Small to a six-year extension, the Illini have been dominant to start the fall.
They have started the season with two victories in two events, the Wolf Run Intercollegiate and the Fighting Illini Invitational, which Illinois hosts.
The Illini have been anchored by two of the nation’s best players, Dylan Meyer and Nick Hardy.
