A Kelly Clarkson-loving mom’s lip-syncing styles went viral — and her son may still be cringing.

Mandy Remmell and her son, Blake, attended a University of Maryland basketball game Tuesday night when the Fan Cam caught her bopping around to “Since U Been Gone.”

In the video, Remmell uses her phone as a mic and slowly gets into the hit song. Then she turns to her son and proceeds to ruin his night. “I was like, I love Kelly Clarkson, so I started singing and then, all the sudden we noticed, ‘Oh, they’re on us,’ and so I just started singing directly to him, and he was not having it,” Remmell explained to Washington, D.C., news station WJLA.

The basketball team shared the video on Twitter, and it got the attention of more than 680,000 viewers.

The camera loved it. But Blake did not. He can be seen slinking into his chair as he desperately tries to hide inside his hoodie while his mom continues to serenade him. He even tries to swat her away a time or two. But his mom wasn’t quitting. “I was like, ‘Oh, he is so embarrassed, we’re just going to keep going,’” she said.

She sings through the entire chorus, getting more emotive as it goes on. As she finishes, the crowd cheers and she starts cracking up.

Two days later, Blake still has not forgiven his mother. “I know that she always does stuff like that. All the time,” he said. Last year, when she got married, she did the worm in her wedding dress.

“If you do some things that are fun, then your kids will really like you. But if you don’t do a lot of things that are fun, then they probably won’t like you that much,” Blake said.

Everyone else likes his mom, though, as Twitter heaps praise on her parenting skills.

And many commenters can relate.

Even the singer herself couldn’t resist watching this bold mom.

If that doesn’t make Remmell seem cool to her son, who knows what will. But she has hope. “He’ll think in 20 years from now I’m the cool mom.”
