Mamata Banerjee’s nephew Abhishek Banerjee injured in car accident, rushed to hospital

Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Abhishek Banerjee was rushed to a hospital after he sustained serious injuries in a car accident.

Mamata Banerjee's nephew Abhishek Banerjee injured in car accident, rushed to hospital

Kolkata, Oct 18: Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Abhishek Banerjee was rushed to a hospital after he sustained serious injuries in a car accident. According to initial reports, car of TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee met with an accident while he was returning from Murshidabad to Kolkata. Abhishek Banerjee is the nephew of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. The front side of Abhishek Banerjee’s car is completely damaged after the mishap. According to doctors, Abhishek Banerjee’s condition is stated to be stable. X-ray has been conducted on his left leg. Abhishek also suffered an injury beneath his left eye. Abhishek Banerjee represents the Diamond Harbour, Lok Sabha constituency.

According to reports, the vehicle in which Abhishek Banerjee was travelling overturned. Abhishek Banerjee sustained serious head injuries. His hands also bear injuries. MLA Manash Bhunia, who was accompanying Abhishek in a car behind, also faced minor injuries in the accident. Seriously injured Abhishek is currently undergoing a treatment. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee along with Education Minister Partha Chatterjee also visited Balle Vue Nusing Home and inquired about the condition of Abhishek Banerjee. A special team has been set up to treat Abhishek Banerjee. Doctors are doing some medical tests following which further treatment will be decided.

Abhishek Banerjee is known for his controversial statements in West Bengal. TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee stirred a controversy last year when he said that those who dared to challenge the TMC administration will have their eyes gouged out and their hands chopped off. “In the heart of Delhi, in Parliament and through various protests, Mamata Banerjee and the TMC have proved that if the interests of the people of Bengal are hurt, we will not leave the matter. As long as Mamata is there, if anyone dares to glare at us, we will gouge their eyes out and throw them on the road, if they raise their hands, we’ll cut their arms off,” Abhishek said while addressing a rally.

Abhishek Banerjee had sparked off a controversy after he claimed that the Mamata Banerjee government had “killed” dreaded Maoist leader Kishenji in 2011. “By killing Kishenji, the Mamata Banerjee government has proven that in the future people will have the last world in Junglemahal,” Banerjee said in a public meeting.
