HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN A MAKEUP ARTIST/STYLIST AND HOW DID YOU GET YOUR START IN THE INDUSTRY?
I’ve been a makeup artist and wardrobe stylist for 2 years. I got my start by being tired of working retail. I realized I have talents that I had to put to use and take full advantage of.

WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT YOUR CAREER?
I love being able to express myself without having to worry about my hair color, covering up my tattoos and being able to do things and get opportunities that most people wouldn’t even think were possible. I also love when I’m working on set of a photoshoot and I finish doing a model’s makeup or getting someone styled and the way their face lights up when they look in the mirror. The options are endless. I get transform people, changing their image to suit the required environment. That excites me. Then seeing my work published reassures me that my hard work is paying off. It gives me that push to keep working hard and to stay focused.

IF YOU WEREN’T A MAKEUP ARTIST/STYLIST, WHAT ELSE WOULD YOU DO?
If I wasn’t a makeup artist or stylist, I think I would be a photographer. Being able to capture a dope picture that tells a story, that’s something I would love to try.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR SIGNATURE LOOK?
My signature look I would have to describe it as different, or as some people would say, a bit weird. I definitely consider myself a weirdo because I wear clothes that normally wouldn’t be worn together but that what sets me aside from everyone else. The way I dress is also how I like express myself.

WHAT DO THINK ARE SOME COMMON BEAUTY MISTAKES THAT WOMEN MAKE?
I think the most common beauty mistakes women make is plastic surgery makes them look better than the way God made them. Now I’m not knocking anyone who choose to go that route I just think everyone is beautiful in their own way and shouldn’t change because what they see on television or what they think will make them be “accepted”. Features should be enhanced, not changed.

WHAT PRODUCTS DO YOU THINK SHOULD BE A STAPLE IN EVERY WOMAN’S LIFE?
Forget a the product, I feel a good beauty routine is key. Yes, as females we all like to wear makeup but good skincare is very important. I for one am guilty for falling asleep with my makeup on all the time and that just makes it harder to keep your skin clear.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE TOOL?
My favorite tool is my hands. Yes, the key to flawless makeup application is good brushes and blending but nothing tops me using my hands for certain things.
