38 Best Nursing Homes in Virginia: U.S. News

As options for senior care grow, U.S. News & World Report offers a list of the top providers in the state.

RICHMOND, VA — Thirty-eight nursing homes in Virginia are among some of the best in the country, according to a new list out Wednesday morning from U.S. News & World Report. Only 13 percent of nursing homes in Virginia were included among the magazine's Best Nursing Homes.

U.S. News evaluated more than 15,000 nursing homes to come up with the slightly more than 2,000 included in the list of Best Nursing Homes. Millions of Americans will spend at least some time in a nursing home this year, noted Brian Kelly, editor and chief content officer of U.S. News.

“Finding a nursing home that meets an individual’s specific needs can be challenging for families,” Kelly said in a release. “Our nursing home ratings are designed to help potential residents and their loved ones navigate this difficult process.”
