Candace Cameron Bure to speak at Convocation next week

The first Liberty University Convocation of Spring 2019 is sure to be a full house.

Actress, author, and producer Candace Cameron Bure, known for her role as D.J. Tanner on the ’90s sitcom “Full House,” will speak on Wednesday, Jan. 16, at 10:30 a.m. in the Vines Center. This will be her second visit to Liberty; she last visited Convocation in 2011.

The actress has found success in Hollywood. She was on “Full House” for all eight seasons and recently reprised the role on “Fuller House,” Netflix’s 2016 revival of the show. Bure has starred in several TV movies.

Other speakers scheduled to appear in Convocation over the next two weeks include Chicago Cubs second baseman Ben Zobrist and his wife and Christian musician, Julianna (Jan. 18), actor and motivational speaker Stephon Ferguson (Jan. 21), and former New York Yankees pitcher Andy Pettitte (Jan. 23).

Convocation remains the world’s largest weekly gathering of Christian young people. Last semester, students heard from numerous influential speakers, including first lady Melania Trump, Olympic diver Steele Johnson, Samaritan’s Purse CEO and President Franklin Graham, and worship artists Kari Jobe and Cody Carnes.
