CAPITAL ONE CUP FINAL LIVE: Bradford v Swansea - as it happens from Wembley Stadium

It's the first cup final of the season so follow Sportsmail's coverage of the Capital One Cup final where Bradford take on Swansea at Wembley Stadium. The Jacks are heavy favourites to win their first ever major honour but will be wary of the League Two side who have already eliminated top flight opposition in Wigan, Arsenal and Aston Villa.

FULL TIME: SWANSEA CITY 5 BRADFORD CITY 0

The final proves a bridge too far for Bradford, who couldn't conjure another giantkilling act. Two goals apiece by Nathan Dyer and Jonathan de Guzman, plus one from Michu, deliver the first major trophy in Swansea's history.

Dyer says he's going to enjoy a few drinks this evening. Speaking of this historic moment, Michael Laudrup hails a 'great performance' and expresses his pride in the team.

GOAL! Swansea 5 (De Guzman) Bradford 0

Just seconds after McLaughlin made a terrific point-blank save from Michu and a follow-up struck the crossbar, Swansea make it five. De Guzman ghosted ahead of his marker to apply the most straightforward of finishes for his second of the match.

90min There will be three minutes of injury time.

87min And an even louder cheer as Jones has Bradford's first shot of the match, a bobbling effort that causes Tremmel no trouble.

85min Enormous cheers as Bradford win their first corner kick of the match. Davies was up challenging but if flies out for a throw on the far side.

83min Third and final change for Swansea as Ben Davies is replaced for Dwight Tiendalli

80min Ten minutes for Bradford to try and grab a consolation goal.

76min Shot from Hernandez which is deflected over. Swansea are about to introduce Roland Lamah for Nathan Dyer, who doesn't look too happy that he won't have a chance to complete his hat-trick.

72min Sub for Bradford as Garry Thompson is replaced by Zavon Hines.

70min All of the Bradford end are on their feet, waving their flags in defiance of the scoreline. Incredible passion for their team.

68min Swansea continue to pour forward, seeking more goals. Hernandez breaks into the box not once but twice and ends up winning a corner. In the end, Williams gets a touch onto a Hernandez cross but McLaughlin gets down to save.

62min Loud welcome for Garry Monk, the Swansea club captain, who comes on for Ki. Nice touch to bring on a player who has played for Swansea in all four divisions.

60min Michu within inches of adding a fifth, his curling low shot just wide. How many more can they score?

GOAL! Swansea 4 (De Guzman pen) Bradford 0

A real tragedy for Bradford, who now have to play for 30 minutes with ten men. Dyer and de Guzman had a fierce argument about who would take it, but the Dutchman made no error. All a bit childish from Dyer, though you can't blame him for wanting to complete his hat-trick.

55min PENALTY TO SWANSEA AND RED CARD FOR DUKE

Dyer was through, about to score and brought down by Duke in the Bradford goal. No argument about the red card shown by Kevin Friend. The man sacrificed is Wells as Jon McLaughlin goes in goal.

54min If Dyer can get one more, he will be the first player to score a hat-trick in a League Cup final. And in the history of finals played as a single leg, the record number of goals scored is four, by Man United against Wigan in 2006.

50min Michu looking to inflict further misery on Bradford, but he can only fire the ball into Duke's hands.

GOAL! Swansea 3 (Dyer) Bradford 0

Bradford had actually started the half well, but then a knockout blow from Nathan Dyer. It was an accomplished finish too, sweeping the ball home after Michu had stepped over the ball. His second of the game and the contest is surely over now.

Perfect placement: Nathan Dyer scores Swansea's third goal

46min The second half gets underway. Bradford have made a change, with Andrew Davies replacing Curtis Good.

HALF-TIME: Swansea City 2 Bradford City 0

As expected, it's the Premier League side who lead at half-time, thanks to goals from Nathan Dyer and Michu.

45min Into one additional minute.

41min Almost a third as Nathan Dyer times his run cleverly to avoid the offside trap. He's forced to take the ball wide though by Duke and the danger passes... for the moment at least.

Seconds later, Wayne Routledge stings the palms of Duke after sneaking into a shooting position.

Hot pursuit: Michu is chased by Bradford captain Gary Jones

GOAL! Swansea 2 (Michu) Bradford 0

Lovely second for Swansea and it's Michu. Penny-in-the-slot ball by Hernandez through to the Spanish striker, who is given time to turn and curl a delightful shot past Duke. A real tall order for Bradford now I'm afraid.

38min First booking goes to Ki, who went in heavily on Wells. It produces Bradford's first set-piece of the match, but it's cleared all too easily.

36min Duke called in to action with two hasty clearances from back passes. Michu proactive in hunting the ball down.

34min Nice football again from Swansea as Michu and Hernandez combine on the edge of the box. Dyer storms in but loses control of it and Bradford can scramble it away.

30min Hit from Leon Britton from the edge of the box after De Guzman's corner was cleared to him. Not a clean strike and it bends away from the target.

29min Routledge collects the ball off a Bradford defender and works space for a good cross. Unfortunately, Michu had gone AWOL and there wasn't anyone in the middle.

26min Swansea in complete control, stroking the ball along the back line and patiently working it forward. Rangel is seeing a lot of the ball as he breaks forward down the right.

Kung fu football: Bradford's Nahki Wells and Pablo Hernandez stretch for the ball

21min Gary Thompson aims a long ball forward to Hanson, but the striker looks isolated and is quickly shut down by the two Swansea centre-halves.

20min Swansea continuing to press, buoyed by their goal. A mishit clearance from Duke goes right out of play. The Yorkshire side need to regain a bit of composure and enjoy a bit of possession. Some of their players haven't touched the ball yet.

GOAL! Swansea 1 (Dyer 15) Bradford 0

First blood to the Welsh side - Routledge drove through the middle and waited until the last possible moment to move it left to Michu. His shot was saved by Duke but pushed only to the back post where Dyer was on hand to tap it in.

13min First chance for Swansea as Ben Davies charges in but heads the ball wide of Duke's goal.

11min Swansea have targeted the right flank almost exclusively so far, trying to get a long ball in behind Curtis Good. The young loanee from Newcastle has dealt with everything in these opening few minutes.

Trying to break through: James Hanson is crowded out by Ashley Williams (left) and Leon Britton

9min Matt Duke calm there as he grabs the ball out of the air from Angel Rangel's high cross, as Michu lurked.

6min Phil Parkinson and Michael Laudrup pacing in their technical areas. It's been 90 per cent Swansea possession but they haven't created anything so far despite some fluid passing.

3min Dyer pings another ball in from the byline after receiving it from Rangel. Michu not in the right position in the middle though and it goes over his head. All Swansea so far.

1min All Swansea possession so far, which might be expected. Nathan Dyer wins the game's first corner kick on the right side, but Bradford get it clear.

15.54 A crescendo of noise as the two teams emerge, led by the respective managers. Fireworks and smoke welcome the players.

15.52 The two teams are waiting in the tunnel. This fairytale final is just a few moments away.

15.51 Bradford have suffered a slump in form at the worst time coming in to this final, winning just two of their 11 matches in all competitions.

15.47 The inside of the stadium is quite a sight, with 90,000 fans waving flags in the colours of their team. In the middle, an acrobat is suspended high above the pitch twisting and twirling.

In the Bradford end, there is an eye-catching banner referring to the Bradford City fire in May 1985, reading 'Never Forgotten' and 'You'll Never Walk Alone.'

15.43 Swansea manager Michael Laudrup says it would be 'very difficult' to describe the feeling if they were to win this 'historic' final. He also says he has no fears Ki will fit in at centre-half, having impressed there in previous outings.

15.39 Phil Parkinson on Sky Sports says he wants to make sure everyone connected with the club samples the big game atmosphere. He says they will be physical all over the pitch and is confident that his players won't freeze on the biggest of stages. 'It would be a magnificent achievement' if they lifted the cup, he adds.

15.37 There's already been some exciting Premier League action today and the match reports are now up on our site. At the Etihad, Manchester City reeled rivals United back to 12 points with a 2-0 win courtesy of goals from Yaya Toure and Carlos Tevez. Frank Lampard also saw a penalty saved by Joe Hart Match report is here.

At the other end of the table, an important win for Newcastle, who beat Southampton 4-2 in a thrilling match. Papiss Cisse scored a memorable 25-yarder which is well worth a watch. Here's the match report for that one.
