Commenting on the launch of Himalayan Sleet and the Explorer Kit, Rudratej (Rudy) Singh, President, Royal Enfield, said, “The new Himalayan Sleet is inspired by the terrain of Royal Enfield’s spiritual home - the Himalayas, its craggy land, the gorges, edgy peaks all brought together in the colours of the sleet. Additionally, the first 500 owners will get pre-fitted Explorer Kits to help kick-start their personal expeditions on the Himalayan Sleet.”
There is no mechanical change in the motorcycle has been reported and it is the same new BSIV version of the standard motorcycle. The
Royal Enfield Himalayan comes powered by a 411cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that also gets an oil-cooled for better heat management. The fuel injected motor produces 24PS at 6,500rpm and a peak torque of 32Nm at 4,500rpm, and comes mated to a six-speed gearbox.
The Himalayan features long travel suspensions with large, durable 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wire-spoke wheels to tackle the uneven terrains. Both the wheels come shod with knobby dual-sport tyres and each of the wheels get a disc brake to provide a better control.
