December 04, 2018 | Football

SAN FRANCISCO -- The 2019 UCLA football schedule was announced Tuesday by the Pac-12 and it features six home games, with San Diego State, Oklahoma, Oregon State, Arizona State, Colorado and California set to visit the Rose Bowl.

Road contests at Cincinnati, Washington State, Arizona, Stanford, Utah and USC round out the schedule, which includes games against eight 2018 bowl teams and College Football Playoff participant Oklahoma. The Bruins could return as many as 19 of 22 starters in the program's second year under head coach Chip Kelly.

UCLA opens the season Aug. 31 with its initial visit to Cincinnati's Nippert Stadium. The Sept. 7 home opener versus San Diego State follows, as the Bruins meet the Aztecs for the first time since 2009. The non-conference portion of the schedule concludes Sept. 14 against Oklahoma, which last faced UCLA at the Rose Bowl in 2005.

Pac-12 play begins with back-to-back road games at Washington State (Sept. 21) and Arizona (Sept. 28). The month of October kicks off with a conference home-opening visit from Oregon State (Oct. 5) and the first bye precedes a Thursday game at Stanford Oct. 17.

Homecoming weekend will take place around UCLA's Oct. 26 game versus Arizona State in the first of two straight at the Rose Bowl. Colorado will visit Nov. 2 heading into the Bruins' second bye. Down the stretch, they will play at Utah (Nov. 16) and USC (Nov. 23) before concluding the regular season at home against California (Nov. 30).
