Man, 21, Found Dead Of Self-Inflicted Gunshot At Beach: Police
The young man was found by the gazebo at a South Jamesport beach, police say.
RIVERHEAD, NY — Funeral services have been set for a young man who died tragically Monday of an apparent suicide in South Jamesport.
Riverhead Town Police Chief David Hegermiller confirmed Tuesday that Patrycjusz S. Rus, 21, died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound at the South Jamesport town beach.
Rus graduated from Riverhead High School in 2015, according to online records.

Visitation will be held on Friday, Dec. 8 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home located at 336 Marcy Avenue in Riverhead.
A funeral Mass will be held Saturday, Dec. 9 at 11 a.m. at St. Isidore Church. Cremation will be private.

According to Riverhead Town Police, a 911 call came in at 2:49 a.m. Monday from a person who found a body near a gazebo at the beach.
Police arrived at the scene and found Rus; the Riverhead Police Department's detective division, along with the Suffolk County Medical Examiner's Office, responded to the scene and commenced a death investigation, authorities said.
