Black Friday In Aurora: Police Offer Traffic Tips

Read this before you head to Chicago Premium Outlets for Black Friday.

AURORA, IL --- Thanksgiving is right around the corner and with it comes the collective shopping chaos that is Black Friday. Ahead of the holiday weekend Aurora police partnered with Chicago Premium Outlets to devise a traffic and parking plan that will help to reduce congestion and keep motorists safe.

The mall will be open from 6 p.m.on Thanksgiving to 10 p.m. on Black Friday, Nov. 23, to give customers a head start on shopping. Commuters are advised to follow these instructions if heading out to take part in black Friday at Chicago Premium Outlets.

For Customers

If you're coming east from I-88 and have an I-pass, take the Eola Road exit to Bilter and turn left. Then take the north entrance at Sealmaster Drive to be directed to free onsite parking.

If you're coming east from I-88 and don't have an I-pass, take the Farnsworth Ave. exit and stay in the farthest right lane. Then, use the west entrance at Premium Outlets Blvd. to be directed to free onsite parking.

If you're coming west from I-88, police suggest taking the northbound Farnsworth Ave. exit whether or not you have an I-pass. Then, use the west entrance at Premium Outlets Blvd. to be directed to free onsite parking.

If you're coming from Kirk Ave. from the north, police will be stationed to direct you to park in off-site lots along Church Road. When you get to Butterfield, turn west and then head south on Church. Shuttles will then ferry shoppers to Chicago Premium Outlets.

If you're coming from the south via Farnsworth, use the west entrance at Premium Outlets Blvd. to be directed to free onsite parking.

For Non-Customers

If you're a non-customer coming from the north via Kirk Road and using I-88, turn left onto Butterfield and use Eola Road or Route 59 to get to I-88 because Kirk Road will be closed to southbound traffic at Butterfield.

If you're a non-customer coming from the south on Farnsworth and using I-88, both the westbound and eastbound ramps onto I-88 will be open via Farnsworth.
