Wis. Recall Is Rematch Of 2010 Governor's Race

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- The Wisconsin recall election targeting Republican Gov. Scott Walker on June 5 will be a rematch of the 2010 race Walker won.

Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett won the Democratic primary Tuesday to earn the right to take on Walker for a second time in just 18 months.

The recall was spurred by Walker's proposal approved last year that effectively ended collective bargaining rights for most state workers.

Walker is trying to frame the recall as a question of whether the state wants to go back to what he calls failed policies of Democrats, or continue moving forward under his reforms.

Barrett says his previous loss to Walker doesn't matter and the recall is about the state's future.
